The daughter of a theater professor and a mother who trained at the Goodman, Cynthia Joyce Clay learned to love theater and reading. Cynthia was in her first play when she played the Lonely Machine in Only When I Laugh by Pfeiffer at Spingold Theater at Brandeis University. She wrote her first short story about a duck who used a skateboard to transport her ducklings down to the pond when she was in fourth grade and attended St. Mary's in London, England. Her teacher kept that story. She wrote her first play when she was fourteen which was produced at Brandeis University when she was a theater major there.


In her professional life she has performed in avant guard theater in Boston, MA performed at the ART in Cambridge, MA, and ran a theater company in Miami, Storycrafter Studio. Her plays have been produced in MA, NM, and South Florida. She has self-published several novels and a book on theater theory. Cynthia was chased by the KGB and surrounded by soldiers with oozies when she was invited to Russia to attend a conference, "Languages of Science: Languages of Art." Cynthia has also been deemed computer software on Shakespeare, having fooled people at the 1st Loebner Prize Competiton of the Turning Test.

Now she is voting for Democrats in Macon, Ga and turning Hamlet into a Stone Age Romance novel.
